Xbox Final Fantasy fans will be pleased to hear that more titles from Square Enix’s legendary JRPG franchise will be joining the Xbox Game Pass service in 2021, following on from last year’s additions of Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, and Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition.

Back at the X019 press event, Microsoft stated that a choice selection of Final Fantasy releases would be hitting the Xbox platform, but word has been quiet since the release of the three aforementioned hits. Speaking to TrueAchievements, a Microsoft spokesperson has assured fans that more entries are still en route to the paid subscription service.

“As we announced at X019, we are excited to bring the Final Fantasy franchise to gamers with Xbox Game Pass,” confirmed the spokesperson. “We have done so throughout 2020 and will continue to do so in 2021 and beyond. We look forward to announcing specific launch dates for more Final Fantasy titles in the future.”

The remaining titles are expected to be Final Fantasy X: HD Remastered, Final Fantasy X-2: HD Remastered, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2, and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. A solid list, that’s for sure, but unfortunately 2020’s Final Fantasy VII Remake will remain at arm’s length for the time being.
