After a week customers spotlightingt bugs, glitches, crashes and comparison videos, CD Projekt RED has offered an apology for the shoddy state of the PS4 and Xbox One Editions of recent release Cyberpunk 2077.
In a statement posted to the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter, CDPR first apologized for not demonstrating the last-gen console editions in action during any of Cyberpunk 2077’s marketing, (review outlets were also restricted to only reviewing the PC edition), before admitting that the team should have “paid more attention” to Cyberpunk 2077’s performance on PS4 and Xbox One.
CDPR goes on to state that the team is working on multiple patches to improve performance. One update has dropped just recently, with another expected in a week’s time. Further updates will be applied in early 2021. Additionally, CDPR is offering refunds for all copies of Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 and Xbox One. The developer suggests customers who purchased a physical copy contact their retailer, or contacting CDPR direct at firstname.lastname@example.org. This email address will be open until December 21.
