Paramount has updated its movie release schedule including a delay to Snake Eyes and announce an official release date for Scream 5.
Paramount announced in a press release Friday that G.I. Joe spinoff Snake Eyes, which was originally slated to hit theaters this year on Oct. 23, has been pushed back to October 22, 2021. The movie will center around the character, as portrayed by Henry Golding, training to become a member of the Arashikage Clan. Scream 5 has also received a release date and it will be coming to theaters January 14, 2022.

Scream 5 is coming by way of a team up between Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group. The film will be helmed by Ready or Not directorial team Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and will see franchise favorites like Courteney Cox and David Arquette reprise their respective roles.
The company also announced that an untitled Lee Daniels Billie Holiday film is set for release on February 12, 2021, and that the Clifford the Big Red Dog movie originally set to release on Nov. 13 will now hit theaters on November 5, 2021. Paramount has also pushed back an untitled Paranormal Activity movie to March 4, 2022. It was originally set to release on March 19 of next year.
Beyond delays, the company has removed an untitled Paramount-Hasbro event film from schedule. This movie was supposed to release in October next year but it seems that movie will no longer be released. It’s unclear if this is a full cancellation of the film or if it was removed because the company has not yet decided on a release date.

Paramount is not alone in shifting its release schedule amidst the global COVID-19 pandemic. Disney did the same earlier this week, pushing The King’s Man back five months into 2021. Perhaps Paramount might shift to a digital distribution format for some of its upcoming movies like Universal Pictures did earlier this year with Trolls World Tour and The Invisible Man.
