Maid of Sker, a new first-person survival horror from Wales Interactive, releases July 28. It’s based on the less-explored topic of Welsh folklore, and you can check out some chilling gameplay footage in the trailer below.

Fusing Welsh folklore with Gothic British horror, Maid of Sker sees you attempt to survive an encounter with the Quiet Ones; bag-headed horrors that can hear your every move and even, seemingly, your breathing. Covering your mouth is mandatory to get past some of these villains, but the gameplay reveals that sonic weaponry in the form of a sound pulse-emitting orb will help keep the Quiet Ones at bay.
Releasing on Steam, PS4, and Xbox One in digital and physical forms, Maid of Sker will be available to pre-order from July 21 and buy from July 28. Wales Interactive are the publisher behind interactive movie/game hybrids like The Complex and Late Shift, and more traditional games like Soul Axiom.
