During the turn of the new year, we asked IGN readers what your favorite and least-favorite Star Wars movies are across the board. As with any poll about films and sagas, there were some surprises. Read the breakdown below on which Star Wars films won in each category.

What is the Best Star Wars Movie?

25,000 of you voted, with Empire Strikes Back winning by a landslide at 51%. Second place was Revenge of the Sith at only 11%, and third place went to Return of the Jedi at 9%.

The Empire Strikes Back has been a fan favorite through years of new fans to the saga, and even boasts a 97% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, followed by a 94% critics score. Releasing in 1980, and the sequel to A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back holds numerous reveals within the Star Wars story. Planet Hoth and the battle we’re brought into; Luke’s training with Master Yoda in Dagobah; and of course, Luke learning who he truly is from that famous Darth Vader line.
