Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair managed to capture a lot of hearts this year with its old-school platforming sensibilities that some compare to the likes of Donkey Kong Country. Then, it managed to frustrate the hell out of those same folks with an end-level that’s wildly tough given the difficulty curve of the rest of the game.

Nevertheless, Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair is viewed by many as one of the best of the year. You can see what all the fuss is about at no cost. Playtonic’s newest is the latest game included in Epic’s 12 Days of Free Games promotion. It’s definitely worth picking up.

The same ol’ restrictions apply. You have one day to claim Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. You can do that here. Tomorrow’s freebie is…just kidding. We’ve finally exhausted all 12 days. It was good while it lasted. Actually, it was great while it lasted.

For anyone who finds themselves in the clutches of Capital B’s grueling gauntlet, maybe my guide to all the game’s secret exits and bees will bee of use. You’ll need all the help you can get.
