Developer Counterplay Games and Gearbox Publishing announced Godfall at The Game Awards 2019, confirming a new PlayStation 5 game.
Godfall will come to PS5 and PC is an Epic Games Store exclusive in late 2020, bringing a “looter-slasher” experience to next-gen.
Counterplay describes Godfall as an action RPG with third-person melee combat. Players will be hunting down loot, wearing legendary armor, and fighting loot-hoarding enemies. Godfall can be played alone or in co-op with two or three players.
“We’re innovating with Godfall to provide a fresh take on action RPGs by rewarding skill-based offensive gameplay and making every hit matter,” Keith Lee, Creative Director of Godfall and CEO of Counterplay Games, said. “Namely, we want to feed into that yearning for the next best piece in your character build, so we plan to provide plenty of loot to players to ensure there’s meaningful impact to gameplay and playstyles.”
