Ryan Reynolds was the first choice for the role of Albuquerque in Zombieland: Double Tap.
The writers of Zombieland (also the writers of Reynolds’ Deadpool movies) spoke to Deadline about their long-awaited zombie sequel. They revealed that scheduling and Reynolds’ desire to spend time with his family led to the role going to Luke Wilson.
“We made it a goal to do only Ryan Reynolds movies,” Paul Wernick joked. “But this one slipped through our fingers. Luke was amazing and it worked out terrific for us.”
