Update: CBS confirmed Alexander Skarsgård has been cast as Randall Flagg in its upcoming adaptation of The Stand.
The company’s press release teases, “Also known as ‘the Dark Man,’ his unsettling and ever-changing presence is the embodiment of pure evil. Like Mother Abagail (Goldberg), Flagg appears in plague survivors’ dreams but, unlike her divine messaging, his ultimate goal is far more sinister…”

CBS also announced the start of principal photography on the series, taking place in Vancouver, British Columbia.
