Venom 2 is in the works, and it seems that no one is more excited about that fact than newly announced director Andy Serkis. Serkis spoke to reporters at the TCA summer press tour today, teasing what’s to come with Venom 2.
“It’s a fantastic franchise and I’m honored to be asked to direct it,” said Serkis. “It feels like a very contemporary story, and I think, hopefully, that it’s going to be an extraordinary piece of cinema.”
Serkis wasn’t willing to discuss the plot of the film, noting only that writer Kelly Marcel is hard at work shaping the script with input from star Tom Hardy. He did say, “I can’t tell you any ideas right now, I’m in the beginning stages, but I have some very clear ideas about what I want to see visually, and how we can take the characters to another dimension.”
