The sooner Google Stadia is out in the wild for people to try for themselves (or promptly ignore), the better. We’re still months away from the initial November rollout, to say nothing of the game-streaming service’s wide release across mobile devices and browsers in 2020. Google is still making its case.

The company will get another crack at warming folks up to Stadia on August 19, just ahead of the annual gamescom expo in Germany there’s a Stadia Connect stream scheduled for 10:00am Pacific.

Even if you’ve written off Stadia and the rest of the hopeful streaming services, this event might be worth a watch (or at least a skim on your news site of choice). Google has been making moves.

Back in June, during the last streaming showcase, we learned about Google’s launch plans for Stadia and saw a list of supported games that included the likes of Baldur’s Gate III and Destiny 2: Shadowkeep. August’s Connect stream will be “all about the games,” some of which are “brand-new titles.” I’m curious to see if any other out-of-left-field game reveals crop up, exclusive or otherwise.

Beyond Stadia Connect, Google will also make an appearance at Geoff Keighley’s “Opening Night Live” gamescom press conference, which is set for 11:00am Pacific on the same day. Busy morning!
