Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD will end after its upcoming Season 7 on ABC, according to a report by Deadline and confirmed by the show’s official Twitter account.
“Next summer’s Season 7 will be the last for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Thanks to our fans for allowing us to be the longest-running Marvel TV series to-date,” the tweet said.
Agents of SHIELD is currently in its sixth season, and Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb told Deadline that it actually ends “delightfully” but fans should steel themselves for Season 7 because now that the finish line is in sight, the showrunners have the freedom to make greater and more permanent storytelling decisions.
