Nintendo recently announced the smaller Switch Lite, but the regular Switch is also getting an upgrade. Switch consoles model number HAC-001(-01) feature an average of at least two extra hours of battery life over the current versions.

The serial number of the new model Switch systems start with the “XKW” as opposed to “XAW,” and Nintendo says the expected battery life – depending on what you’re playing – should last approximately 4.5 to 9 hours versus 2.5 to 6.5 hours for the older model. The expected battery life of the Lite is 3 to 7 hours.

No word as to when the new model Switch units will be available at retail or if they already are.
