Nintendo’s platform-builder Super Mario Maker 2 has managed to hold on for a third week in the number one spot of the UK charts, fending off persistent, aggressive attempts from Activision’s Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled to usurp the creative Switch release.

Speaking of creativity, Square Enix Dragon Quest Builders 2 has managed to debut at number five with almost 70% of its total retail sales coming from the Switch release, according to a report by Gamesindustry.biz. Elsewhere in the charts, NetherRealm’s Mortal Kombat 11 continues to enjoy a sales boost, allowing it to gain further footing within the Top Ten.

The only other title to make a major move was, of all games, Hollow Knight, which made a very surprising re-entry in the Top 40 at number 34. As far as the retail-purchasing UK public is concerned, the summer drought is real.
