What do you do when you beat Dark Souls myriad times, with every build, platinum or 1000/1000 the game, and master it? You mod it.

Dark Souls on PC has served the modding community well for nearly seven years now by way of the highly customizable Prepare to Die edition, but now folks have to deal with the Remastered edition as the former was pulled from sale. Prepare owners had the chance to boot up the Daughters of Ash mod earlier this year, which added a hefty amount of content and features to the already packed world (you can get a whiff of everything below), and now Remastered players can too (take note of the Daughters‘ “obvious disclaimer,” to not play mods online).

Mod master Scott Mooney managed to get the mod working with the remaster all quick-like, and a new build is now available for download. The big takeaways are new boss battles focused on tactical gameplay, more lore, and new NPCs. Mooney says that the mod amounted to “more than one thousand hours of work” throughout 2017 and 2018, which doesn’t seem to include the time put into getting it up and running with Remastered.
