Doom designer John Romero is announcing his next game tomorrow, which also just so happens to be Doom’s 25th anniversary.
In a brief email to fans – a copy of which as been uploaded to Imgur (thanks, PC Gamer) – Romero, who was one of id Software’s co-founders, is giving nothing away other than an invitation to pre-order and the Doom logo. But it’s the teaser text – “prepare to 5” – and the correlation to Doom’s 25th anniversary that’s got fans hoping it just might be Doom 5.
“25 years ago Doom was released on December 10th,” the image says.
