One of the biggest mysteries in the geek community has finally been solved. We now know that Avengers 4 is officially titled “Avengers Endgame.” Perhaps not the most glamorous title in the MCU, but it gets the point across. And more importantly, it turns out that Marvel has been teasing this title for several years now.

Here’s a look back at all the clues towards the title of Avengers 4, dating all the way back to 2015.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Shortly after Ultron first manifests itself in this movie, the Avengers have a heated argument over whether it was such a good idea for Tony and Bruce to build a hyper-intelligent A.I. system with near-unlimited power. As friends do from time to time. Tony’s justification for designing Ultron is to reference his near-death experience at the end of the first Avengers movie and the unknown threat posed by enemies from other worlds. Tony says, “That up there. That’s the endgame. How were you guys planning on beating that?”.
