HBO’s Game of Thrones cast members will appear in a reunion special, but it won’t be shown on HBO, reports Entertainment Weekly.
The special will instead be included in a planned Game of Thrones complete series home video box set, the first to package all eight seasons together. Actors like Sean Bean (Ned Stark) who have long since departed the show will appear in the special, which will be hosted by Conan O’Brien.
Entertainment Weekly previously reported that the special had been shot in Belfast earlier this year, but HBO would not confirm as much until now. HBO plans to release the box set that includes the special sometime in 2019 after Thrones’ series finale airs.
