Epic Games has announced that the limited time Playground mode, recently added, pulled, then returned to their battle royale smash hit, Fortnite, is to take another break next week for some new features and fine tuning.

The Playground mode, which re-launched earlier this week, allows small teams of players to occupy a private playing area, where they are given more resources and a one-hour time limit to create the coolest homestead that they can within the game’s engine.

Next week, Playground mode will go offline, with plans to return it to the playlist momentarily, complete with extra options including 1v1 and 2v2 battles, the ability to edit other player’s constructions, aim assist options, new traps and more. This is all in line with the game’s latest update, 4.5, which brought a good ol’fashioned Tommy Gun to play, perfect for writing your name in the wall, or so old gangster films have taught me. You can check out the latest patch notes right here.

Fortnite is available now on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
