There’s a killer on the streets of Haddonfield… again. This fall, Halloween returns to theaters, with an all-new sequel which ignores all the other sequels (and the Rob Zombie reboot movies), creating a new branching timeline for horror fans to debate endlessly for years to come. And IGN was there, on the set of the Charleston, SC location doubling for the iconic small town which seems perpetually doomed to suffer every October 31.
The new film is once again called Halloween, and it once again stars Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode. It’s the role that originally shot her to stardom when John Carpenter cast her in 1978’s influential thriller, which helped codify the burgeoning slasher genre. The new film is directed by David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express), and co-written by David Gordon Green and Danny McBride (Eastbound and Down), and also stars Judy Greer and Andi Matichak as Laurie Strode’s daughter, and granddaughter, respectively, and Nick Castle, reprising his original role as Michael Myers (with actor/stuntman Jim Courtney stepping in for the more physical scenes).
