Tales of Vesperia, the cel-shaded Tales of game that is often considered the best game in the series, might be getting a remaster soon, if the 10th anniversary website is any indication.

Gematsu reports discovery of the 10th anniversary site, which right now is password-locked and can’t be accessed. They also go on to say that their sources have indicated a Tales of Vesperia remaster is on the way and should be announced at E3 2018. Gematsu did not indicate platforms, but considering the Tales Studio’s stated preferences, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC are pretty likely bets.

Tales of Vesperia released in August 2008 worldwide as part of Microsoft’s initiative to attract fans in Japan and fans of Japanese games. The game was ported to PlayStation 3 in Japan with new characters and content, but this version never released in America despite pleas from fans. The Tales series itself used to be close to yearly, but despite announcing a Tales title for the Switch, the series has been pretty quiet since 2016’s Tales of Berseria.

Our Take
Tales of Vesperia is one of my favorite JRPGs, but I got all the achievements back in the day, so a remaster would have to add some pretty significant new content for me.
