Razer is working on spreading the love to several of its partners in terms of its Chroma technology as well as the mechanical switches utilized in its series of keyboards. If you’ve got a Razer keyboard or one of its Chroma products, you know how big of a deal that is, especially if you like pretty, colorful lights with your tech or just awesome, clicky keys.

The Razer mechanical switches were previously only available exclusively on Razer’s BlackWidow series of keyboards, but later this year they’ll be making their debut on keyboards manufactured by a selection of various partners. All varieties, inluding Razer Green, Orange, and Yellow switches will be available for use, ranging from tactile bumps and click sounds to ultra-fast actuation and quieter keypresses. If you’re like me and love the feeling of striking keys as well as the feedback they provide, you’ll be able to look for keyboards with these special switches beyond Razer’s lineup, which is pretty exciting news. There’s no date for when we’ll see the key switches coming available, but it’ll be in 2018 sometime soon.

Meanwhile, the Razer Chroma ecosystem will let fans integrate the lighting technology with other devices, including Philips Hue smart lights, PC cases, cooling fans, and other hardware to make sure color experiences are the same across the board. This includes companies like MSI, NZXT, AMD, Thermaltake, Lian Li, Vertagear, Gigabyte, and Ducky.

“Gamers today own multiple RGB lighting-enabled devices, but they can’t enjoy a truly immersive experience because these devices don’t talk to each other,” said Razer Co-Founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan. “For the first time ever, we’re letting our partners tap into the Chroma ecosystem so we can bridge that gap for the benefit of all gamers.”

Support for Razer Chroma will launch in Q4 2018, so get started thinking about those special color schemes now.
