TNT has announced the release date for its upcoming sci-fi thriller, Snowpiercer. The series will premiere on Sunday, May 31, 2020.

The announcement was made at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour. Here’s how TNT describes the series. “Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity who inhabit a perpetually moving train, with 1001 cars, that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out in this riveting television adaptation.”

TNT also unveiled a new poster featuring stars Daveed Diggs as Andre Layton and Jennifer Connelly as Melanie Cavill, which you can check out in the gallery below:

This particular version of Snowpiercer, which has already been renewed for a second season, is based on the 2013 film and the graphic novel of the same name. The series has been in development for nearly five years and when asked about the show’s lengthy production, Diggs jokingly said, “It takes a long time to make good s**t.”

Rounding out the cast are Emmy-nominee Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, and Tony Award-winner and Grammy-nominee Lena Hall. For more Snowpiercer, check out these posters drawn by popular artists, and a sneak-peek clip that we saw at New York Comic Con back in 2019.
